Equipment TeleVue 101, ST7E, GM8
Processing 20 X 15 Sec., MaxIM: DDP, Gamma Stretch, PhotoShop: stack, and a combination of invert and multiply and overlay/div, 60% of original image.
Notes Could get a little more out of the core, I may try and reprocess to bring out more dtail in the Trapezium.
Background M42 and the smaller M43 (upper left) are at a distance of about 1500 light years. Also known as the Orion Nebula, this object contains dense dust and gasses that fuel star formation. M42 is an emission nebula while M43 is a reflection nebula, reflecting light from M42. The center of this object features a very young still forming star cluster, The Trapezium Cluster.
